Gingerbread Cookies

 Ingredients
In a large bowl, sift and mix together:
3 C. flour
1/4 t. salt
1 t. baking soda
1 T. ginger
1 t. cinammon
1/4 t. ground cloves
1/4 t. ground nutmeg

In another bowl or mixer cream:
1 1/2 sticks butter
3/4 C. brown sugar
1 egg

Stir the dry ingredients into the creamed mixture Then add:
1/2 C. molasses
1 T. vanilla

This dough is very soft, but works well. They puff up quite a bit. Use lots of flour when rolling out.

Let dough rest at least 2 hours, roll 1/4" thick and cut out. Bake 7 - 10 minutes at 375 degrees.
