 Ingredients
1 1/4 c sugar
1 c crisco butter shortening
2 eggs
1/4 c light corn syrup
1 tbsp vanilla
3 c flour
3/4 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt

plastic wrap
wax paper

sugar, frosting, candies, chips, nuts, etc. for decoration
 
 
 Instructions
-beat sugar and shortening in a large bowl
-add eggs, corn syrup, and vanilla and beat until well blended and fluffy
-combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. add gradually to creamed mixture at low speed until well blended
-divide dough into 4 quarters. wrap each with platic wrap and refrigerate at least 1 hour and until ready to use
-heat oven to 375F
-sprinkle flour on a large sheet of wax paper. place one quarter of dough on floured wax paper. flatten slightly with hands. turn dough over and cover with another large sheet of wax paper. roll dough to 1/4-inch thickness. remove top sheet of wax paper. cut out with floured cookie cutters. place 2 in apart on an ungreased cokie sheet. roll out remaining dought the same way.
-sprinkle with granulated sugar or colored sugar crystals; or leave plain to frost or decorate when cooled
-bake 5-9 min. do not overbake. cool 2 mins on baking sheet before removing the cookies from pan to cooling rack
