Caramels

 Ingredients
2 C sugar
1 C. brown sugar
1 C corn syrup
1 C evaporated milk
1 pint heavy cream
1 C. butter
1 1/4 t. vanilla
 
 
 Instructions
In a large saucepan, combine everything but vanilla. Cook to 240 degrees. (note: takes a Loonngg time to go from 225 to 240. Remove from heat, add vanilla. Pour into buttered 12x15 pan.

top each piece with a piece of coarse sea salt.
