 Ingredients
1 T. butter
1/4 C. beer
1 1/2 C. (6 oz) shredded sharp cheddar
1 T. cornstarch
1/4 C. beer
1 T. whole-grain mustard
1 t. worcestershire
1/2 t. anchovy paste
party rye slices
 
 
 Instructions
1. melt butter, and 1/4 C. beer and cheese. Cook until cheese is melted (stir constantly).
2. In bowl, combine cornstarch with 1/4 C. beer. Whisk into cheese mixture. Cook, whisking contsantly until very thick and smooth.
Remove from heat.
3. Whisk in mustard, worcestershire and anchovy paste.
4. Put bread slices on cookie sheet (or toast them first). Spoon cheese mixture on bread/toast slices.
5. Broil until golden brown.
6. Season with freshly ground pepper.
